Money? We can’t even give it away!

“There’s no such thing as a free lunch”.  Heard that before?  Do you believe it?
OK, how about, “Money for old rope”?  Or even, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink”?
In the 15 months since the BuildaSkill forums went live, we have -

served over 213,000 page views to visitors
grown traffic [...]

New Payment Processors & Merchant Services Directory

Version 1.0 of BuildaSkill’s “Bill & Payment Processors, Merchant Services, and Money Transferrers Directory” is now live on the site.
The initial directory page includes links and descriptions for over 3 dozen of the most popular services – both approved and banned by eBay.  The researching and data collection for the directory turned up some gems [...]

BuildaSkill makes a Million

According to Alexa Site Stats, the BuildaSkill Global Biz Blog just became one of the top one million sites on the web … Just the blog on its own, without all the other bits of the site, so overall we must be a fair bit higher … mustn’t we?  If I’m misunderstanding, please tell me.
I’m [...]

All Change – Blog upgraded & re-themed

It was time for a software upgrade to the BuildaSkill Global Biz Blog, so I decided it would also be a good time for a style redesign too.
I’m pleased to report the upgrade all went smoothly on friday night, as did the switch to the new theme.  I’m still fine tuning the theme, and hope [...]

BuildaSkill is One-Year-Old Today!

Happy Birthday BuildaSkill.

And what a year it’s been!

Gaz and I are thoroughly exhausted today, and we’re not even trying to dredge through the archives to create a “that was the year that was” type post. Instead, we’d like to invite you all to post your highlights from the last year, in the comments below.

We’ve got some major tasks underway here (see announcements board in our forums) but we’ll be back next week with our unrelenting critiques and criticisms for the world of online selling.

Remember what George Bernard Shaw said – “The power of accurate observation is often called cynicism by those who don’t possess it …

And what Gaz appended several years ago – “… and criticism by those observed!

I’m sure you wouldn’t want us to change anything?

Or would you?

Ed (& Gaz)

Buildaskill becomes more useful in wake of eBay changes

In following up a commitment made last week in an earlier blog post, I’ve spent most of this week collecting data on alternative venues to eBay.
Amongst details of almost 200 alternative sites (all, bar one, being a LOT cheaper than the San Jose giant) and will be working on detailed indexes and directories, together with site reviews [...]

New Year – New Look ….. sort of

One of the first things you probably noticed when you logged into the BuildaSkill Blog or Forums today, was the new masthead image.  I hope you like it (I do, so I guess that’s all that counts really?)
It’s the start of a site-wide synchronisation that will be rolling out this month, and the blog, book-store (currently [...]

Now you know ……

I’ve been asked why I don’t add eBay’s Cheap Listing days to the blog everyday, like is done on many other blog sites that cover eBay.  Well ……
First up, those other sites blog ONLY about eBay and any directly related services, sites or events.  Here at BuildaSkill, we cover a whole lot more than just [...]
