Oztion extends BIN durations to 60 days

Oztion, the online auction site that only allows Australian resident sellers, today extends Buy Now listing durations to 60 days.  Previously their longest duration was 28 days.
An announcement on the site, on Friday, states that -

Oztion’s new Best Offer cuts BIN ASPs 25%

Australian auction venue Oztion introduced a Best Offer feature this week and within 24 hours saw a 25% cut in the Average Selling Price (ASP) of Buy Now items sold after accepting offers made by buyers.

eBay continues nibbling at sellers’ VFM

Several new announcements from eBay in the last 24 hours demonstrate a continual nibbling away at the Value For Money (VFM) sellers get from the sites.



eBay, UK Law, and Business Sellers – Round 2

This morning (UK time) eBay UK threw a new policy into the mix, forcing business registered sellers to accept customer returns for any reason the customer chooses, for up to 14 days after delivery. The announcement claims this policy is to force business sellers to comply with existing UK legislation, but typically ignores those sellers outside of the EU, leaving them in limbo as to whether the policy applies to them or not.



Downunder It’s PayPal or C.O.D. – That’s It!

Whether that is true or not is open to speculation and scorn. eBay are notoriously secretive about such metrics and the results of investigations they conduct into disputes between trading partners, or against individuals. Having a rolling “score sheet” somewhere on each site would go a long way to restoring user confidence in such statements.
