EU sites clamp down on TL2 users not upgrading

Several European eBay sites announced mid-month that from this coming Monday (2nd March) sellers who have uploaded listings with a version of TurboLister prior to v6.5 will have those listings removed. No mention of insertion fee rebates or listing upgrade fee refunds were made.

Belgian eBay holds proper January Sales offer

eBay Belgium have announced (late in the day admittedly) that Sunday 4th and Monday 5th January are Free Listing Days (FLDs).
The announcement specifically states the promotion is a “free for all” and covers the insertion fees for auctions and fixed price (BIN) listings.  All other fees are excluded as are Stores and Classifieds listings.  Remember [...]

5-cent BINs (all price tranches) on Belgium tomorrow

eBay Belgium are running an “all-comers-welcome” CLD tomorrow on Buy Now / Fixed Price listings.  Insertion is just 5-cents across all price tranches, though Belgium does not give free gallery, and you’ll need to price in Euros with keywords working best if they’re in French.
As I’ve stated before, listing on Belgium does carry the benefit [...]

No more email marketing for store subscribers?

Tucked away at the bottom of an announcement from eBay Belgium appears to be a forewarning that Email Marketing is to be removed in the new year.
The announcement primarily addresses the introduction of anonymous emails – a system that eBay are rolling globally – but the last two sentences drop the bombshell for Store subscribers.  [...]

eBay Belgium have released an announcement that insertion fees for Auctions and BIN listings benefit from free insertion this Saturday and Sunday (1st & 2nd November 2008).
The offer covers all price tranches and excludes Stores Inventory and Classifieds.  Motors are already free insertion on the site.
The announcement pushes uses with advice to pay for Gallery, [...]

Belgium offers free listings, if free shipping offered

eBay Belgium have tendered a last minute announcement for free insertion fees for tomorrow and Monday (5-6 October) for listings offering free shipping.
eBay globally seem intent on creating a self-fulfilling prophesy that buyers prefer listings with free shipping, despite those sellers offering it continuing to complain of DSRs being marked down because of it.  Those [...]

Have a Quickie Cheapie in Belgium

eBay Belgium have just released a last minute announcement to say they’re offering cheapies tomorrow and Monday, so move quickly and drag some more punters into your current shop set up, to help you clear all those British sub-99p listings
The announcement is for Auction and BIN insertion fees only in all categories – [...]

Belgium tightens the rules – prohibited & controlled items

The policy hammer came down this week on several “fringe” categories with a long announcement from the gang in Belgium. It seems their parliament is determined they will not be as liberal as neighbouring Holland.

Top of the list is this years number one target for eBay worldwide – Weapons
The announcement also dealt with erotic accessories and “test Euros”.
However the most controversial part of the announcement deals with non-prescription medicines.

This is going to wreak havoc with many sellers, and I’m sure there will be many questionable policy slaps in the area of herbs and medical aids (therapeutic herbs are a big niche on eBay, as are things like pain relieving creams, bandages and the like) with many dolphins getting caught in a net that appears to be not of eBay’s making.
