As our header tagline says, Buildaskill is A Community for Home-based Businesses.

Originally intended as a central resource for all the skills knowledge that may be useful to a home business, it soon became clear that not only would this be a mammoth task, but also that there are many existing websites who have carved niches specialising in specific skills and needs.  It was therefore decided to make BuildaSkill into more of a “hub” for sharing that knowledge, as well as a community for sharing tips, news of events and markets, money-saving & money-making ideas (as a small business), and a networking location for home businesses around the globe, including in the Third World. editor@buildaskill.com

We’re particularly interested in linking developing country manufacturers with First World resellers and distributors within a Fair Trade environment.  In the same vein, we hope the site becomes known for enabling co-operative effort and ventures which are not trade related, for example in the areas of fund-raising for education and training in those areas without existing facilities.

On top of everything else, we want to keep it fun as well as informative.  Helping everyone to remember this, in our forums you’ll find a section dedicated to sharing your favourite jokes, as well as an arcade for retro computer games; the type anyone can learn in a few seconds….. and I’m still holding too many of the high scores
