EU sites clamp down on TL2 users not upgrading

Several European eBay sites announced mid-month that from this coming Monday (2nd March) sellers who have uploaded listings with a version of TurboLister prior to v6.5 will have those listings removed. No mention of insertion fee rebates or listing upgrade fee refunds were made.

The announcements (all made during the week ending Friday 13 February (think about it)) commonly stated (after translation via Google) -

As of March 2, 2009, users of Turbo Lister must use version 6.5 or higher to sell their goods. To check the version of Turbo Lister that you can use the option to open Help> About menu in Turbo Lister Turbo Lister.

All ads that have been shipped with a version lower than 6.5 are blocked until the tool has been updated. We support removing the other versions because we want to present a more secure way to access that is only available from version 6.5.

As already announced in 2008, we added a new phase of “authentication and authorization” in Turbo Lister as a measure of protection against fraud.

We urge you to update Turbo Lister now to prevent any possibility of delay in sales. Simply take the next automatic update or if you prefer to update manually, open the option “Tools> Check for updates of the program” from the menu.

That particular version is from eBay Spain’s announcement and includes more details than the versions from eBay Belgium, eBay France, eBay Italy, and eBay Poland.
