Reminder – EU countries switch “New & Now” listings 2nd March

Following the mid-February announcements from several European eBay sites, sellers are reminded that effective from this coming Monday (2 March) the listing format “New and Now” is being retired and listings will be switched to Buy Now format.
It may be that some of your listings do not suit the standard Buy Now format, or that default durations and listing upgrades will not be cost effective for them. Therefore please check your listings on eBay Italy, eBay Switzerland, and eBay Spain (more sites may have released announcements by the time you read this) to see if the BIN format will disadvantage your selling strategy.
eBay Europe are retiring the “New and Now” format in order to simplify the offerings available on their sites. It may also be that they have seen increasing usage of the BIN format for used items and realised that an integrated format for new and used with Buy Now is a more logical forward path.
As ever, their communication of the policy was restricted only to the sites offering the format, and took no account of eBay being a “global marketplace” with sellers from other countries, using other languages, needing to know about the policy shift.
