eBid offers $3000 prize for 3 millionth listing
By Ed | December 30th, 2008 | Category: eBid | No Comments »Established person to person online auction site eBid.net announced (Boxing Day) a cash award of $3,000 for the successful seller that lists the three millionth individual item on its site.
In only three months, following its US launch, eBid has grown listings by 74% and, on December 9th, awarded seller Huddylion, seller of the two millionth listing, $2,500. Co-founder, Mark Wilkinson said “Sellers are joining us in record numbers enabling us to achieve double digit monthly growth ahead of the market and this promotion is our way of demonstrating our gratitude.”
The three millionth listing promotion is for manually entered individual items only, and not for those entered using the bulk-listing tools. With daily statistics published regularly throughout the day at eBid.net, sellers can count down to the jackpot and try to calculate their chances of taking home the cash.
To support its growth plans in 2008, eBid invested in a radio, online and outdoor advertising campaign. This will continue more aggressively in 2009, with a focus on the US and UK markets where eBid has a significant market share of the online auction world.
