PayPal Merchants Extend Seasonal Offers Far Beyond eBay

Beth Strobel, PayPal’s Senior Director of the Promotions and Partnership Team has posted on the PayPal official blog to remind everyone of holiday rebates, discounts and other special offers by selected PayPal merchants.

Starting yesterday (Cyber Monday), retailers such as Blue Nile, Overstock.com and eToys are offering cash rebates on purchases made with PayPal. Details vary by merchant, but you could save up to 30 percent simply by using your PayPal account at checkout.

Also, eBay shoppers who arrive through Microsoft Live Search can receive up to 30 percent cash back on the purchase of any eligible fixed-price item when using PayPal.

Free shipping continues as part of the mantra. SmartBargains (eBay’s latest Diamond PowerSeller – check their feedback) and 1-800-FLOWERS.com are among the merchants offering free shipping this season on orders paid for with PayPal.

Meanwhile in the UK, new threads keep appearing on the Payments discussion board regarding more problems surfacing for buyers trying to pay for their eBay purchases, and several relating to underpaid P&P have appeared overnight. I do hope the Australian ACCC are monitoring that board.
