50% off CA & US Auction Insertions, but no more warnings.
By Ed | November 25th, 2008 | Category: eBay CA, eBay US | No Comments »Both eBay Canada and eBay.com are running 50% off insertion fees for Auctions until midnight tonight. DSR minimums apply for eligibility and the usual warnings about fees not reflecting on selling tools apply, but they’ll appear on current billing fees in Seller Account details. Additionally there are some categories excluded, so check the announcements in our Cheap Listing Days board.

The Canadian announcement also carries the warning that from 1st December 2008, they will no longer advise of upcoming CLDs on the Announcements Board, and will only use emails and onsite promotion to let members know about them. I can hear the Canadian forums heating up already. This move, to me, smacks of a site desperate to get eyeballs on their pages, rather than sellers subscribing via RSS feeds to off-site readers. I guess even eBay are starting to recognise the traffic drops now?
I’m wondering how long before other sites follow that Canadian lead – remember the Canucks were the first (after India) to introduce the International Visibility Fee – as first announced to the world here on BuildaSkill.
