Poles Apart – eBay makes concessions for E. Europeans

eBay.PL have announced a special listing weekend for their resident users, which makes a mockery of the UK blocking overseas sellers from getting the shop-subscription based insertion fees from mid-September.

The announcement (translated to English in the BuildaSkill forumsforum login & minimum post count required) states that for the 14th & 15th November, “registered users on eBay.pl who accept PayPal payments will be able to list items on eBay.de, eBay.com and eBay.co.uk for only 5 cents / pence”.

For Germany and the US, the offer is good for both Auctions and Buy Now, whereas on the UK it is for Auctions only … 99p start and £19.99 P&P for a bootleg CD anyone?

Buy this book on AmazonI guess the UK discussion boards will be a bit lively when word of this gets around, and there’ll be loads of defensive Brits dusting off the pith helmets and polishing the old Lee-Enfields.  All together now, sing along …

“Who do you think you are kidding Mr Polack,
If you think old England’s done….”
