Countering eBay Canada’s “no foreigners” stance regarding Cheap Listing Days, eBay Italy has announced a week of cut price insertion fees in the Collectibles categories open to sellers anywhere.

Discount of 75% off listing fees are available for items sold in auction-style listing in the following categories:

* Collectibles
* Stamps
* Coins and Banknotes
* Art and Antiques
* Comics

Now I know many sellers (especially in the UK & US) don’t like selling to Italy because of excessive postal losses between Customs and buyer’s address, but as a general rule, anything that requires a signature on delivery does get through.  You can also increase this likelihood by adopting the A/R (Addressee Receipt) returned signature system, which usually only costs a few pence extra on top of International Registered / Signed For delivery.  Check on your domestic Post Office sites.

As this promotion is run on the Italian site, this is a good chance to focus shipping cost variation for Italy as compared to other European countries, and remember, Italy is in Euros, therefore you are likely to pick up buyers from other Euro countries at the same time.
